Build Engaging Predictor Games Around Highly Anticipated Football Matches
Transform any collection of football matches into an engaging prediction game where users compete, climb rankings, and win rewards. Matches Templates offer the ultimate flexibility for creating popular gamification experiences like custom predictors, cross-league leaderboards, and any curated match prediction contests.
This comprehensive guide will walk you through creating and managing Matches Games using the Management Portal, covering all necessary configurations and optional customization features to build compelling user experiences.
What You Can Build with Matches Games
Matches Games serve as the most versatile templates that power various engaging experiences:
- Custom Predictors - Football prediction games where users forecast outcomes for hand-selected matches from any competitions, leagues, or tournaments across one or more prediction markets in order to climb rankings and win rewards (e.g., "Top 5 European Leagues Weekly Predictor")
- Themed Match Collections - Any dedicated prediction games built around specific match themes, rivalries, or seasonal highlights that span across different competitions and timeframes
All Matches Games come with built-in leaderboard functionality where user points for predictions made on the selected matches and markets are automatically calculated. This makes them perfect for gamification - users can compete for rankings, earn rewards, and stay engaged with your platform through your expertly curated match selection!
Real-World Success Story: A Bulgarian platform created a weekly predictor featuring hand-picked matches from Europe's top 5 leagues (Premier League, Bundesliga, LaLiga, Serie A, Ligue 1) plus the Bulgarian league. Every week, the most exciting fixtures were carefully selected and published for users to predict on. This custom approach attracted significant user engagement with both monthly and yearly rewards for top participants - proving the power of curated match selection over rigid competition boundaries.

Required Configuration
The fields described below are required to create a functional Matches Game. These core settings must be completed before your Matches template can be saved or launched.
Name
A required field for every Matches Game. Provides a clear, recognizable title for your prediction experience and can be edited even after game creation. In most client implementations, this title is prominently displayed to users and serves as the main indicator of the prediction feature's purpose and focus. We advise you to choose names that clearly communicate the match selection focus, such as "Top European Leagues Custom Challenge"
Matches Selection
The core foundation of your Matches Game that determines which match predictions will count towards this leaderboard. Each Matches Game offers complete flexibility - manually select any matches from any competitions, leagues, or tournaments to build your prediction experience around.
Flexible Search & Selection Process:
- Competition Search: Type competition names in the search field and select from the dropdown menu to view available matches from that competition
- Team Search: Type team names in the search field and select from the dropdown menu to view available matches involving that team
- Manual Match Selection: Click on individual matches from the results to add them to your game selection
- No Restrictions: Add as many matches as desired from any combination of competitions, leagues, countries, or time periods
This selection method gives you unprecedented control over creating unique prediction experiences that aren't bound by single competition or team limitations. Build weekly themed collections, seasonal highlights, or any custom match combination that suits your audience.
Time Range Configuration
You must set both start and end dates ('from' and 'to' dates) to define the exact period your Matches Game will cover. These dates determine which predictions for the selected matches will fall within and count for the leaderboard.

Select which prediction markets will count towards the leaderboard rankings in your Matches Game. This selection directly impacts user engagement and the complexity of your prediction experience.
