π Why Brand Your Games?
Wondering why branding your games matters? It opens up opportunities for sponsorship deals by featuring partner logos and assets throughout the experience. Plus, keeping consistent brand identity across games helps with brand recognition and makes everything look more professional and put-together for your users.
And here's the good news: if you don't have the time or development resources to build custom front-end implementations from scratch, we've got you covered with pre-built widgets that handle all the branding display automatically. You can launch fully branded games within days!
π What Are Branding Templates?
Our branding templates feature (released in January 2026) allows you to create and manage reusable branding configurations that can be applied across multiple games. Instead of configuring branding individually for each game, you can now create pre-defined branding templates once and apply them to any game with just a few clicks.
This means you can:
- Create reusable branding templates for all your campaigns
- Apply any of these pre-defined brandings to multiple games instantly via dropdown selection
- Create and manage all your branding templates centrally from one location
- Save significant time by eliminating repetitive manual configuration
π Creating Branding Templates
Step 1: Navigate to Branding Configuration
- Go to the Management Portal
- Click on Configuration in the left sidebar
- Select the Branding tab
Step 2: Add a New Template
- Click the + Add button
- Enter a name for your branding template (e.g., "NBA", "Red Bull", "Coca Cola")
Step 3: Configure Your Branding Assets
Your branding template can include:
Images Tab:
- Main Logo - Your primary brand logo
- If you want to add more branding images, click Show More Images to access: Mobile Logo, Background Image, Mobile Background Image, and Additional Image
- Upload images by clicking the upload button
Colors Tab:
- Add colors by entering hex values directly or by clicking on the color square to choose from a color picker
- Add as many colors as you need - there's no limit. You can add just one color, two, or fill out all available color slots based on your branding requirements
URLs Tab:
- You can add as many URLs as needed - just one, a few, or all links depending on your requirements
Step 4: Save Your Template
- Review all your branding assets
- Click Create to save your template
Your template is now ready to be applied to any game!
π Managing Your Branding Templates
Editing Templates: To edit an existing template, go to Configuration β Branding, click on the template card you want to modify, make your changes to images, colors, or URLs, and click Update to save.
Deleting Templates: To delete a template, go to Configuration β Branding and click the delete icon (ποΈ) on the template card you want to remove. Be careful - this action cannot be undone.
π Applying Branding Templates to Games
Once you've created your branding templates, you can apply them to any game type.
Steps to Apply Branding Templates:
- Navigate to the game instance you want to brand (or create a new game)
- In the game editing interface, locate the Branding section on the right side
- Click on it to expand the dropdown
- Under Select branding, choose from your available templates:
- The selected branding assets (images, colors, URLs) will be automatically populated for your game
- Save your game
Preview: You'll see a preview of the branding template's main logo (if there's a main logo) directly in the dropdown selection panel to help you identify the right template quickly.
π How Branding is Displayed
How your branding templates are displayed to end users depends on your implementation:
Custom Front-End Implementation
If you are NOT using our pre-built widgets, the display of your branding is handled by your own front-end development. You'll have full control over how and where the branding assets (logos, colors, URLs) are rendered in your custom interface.
Your development team can access the branding data and implement the display according to your specific design requirements.
Using Fans United Widgets
If you ARE using our pre-built widgets, the branding is automatically displayed according to our widget design system.
We have dedicated articles explaining how branding is displayed on our widgets for Classic Quizzes (the approach is similar for other widget types as well). We're continuously creating detailed branding documentation for all widget types, so keep checking for more widget-specific guides.

π What If You Were Already Using Branding Before This Update to Branding Templates?
Games created before this update (January 2026) will continue to work exactly as they do now - no action required. If you were already using branding before templates were introduced, your existing game branding remains fully functional. For new games created after this update, you'll need to use the new templates system. Configuring branding individually for each game is no longer possible for new games created after this update.
To streamline your workflow, consider creating templates that match your existing branding, then gradually migrate games branding to templates for easier central management.
π Archive: Previous Branding System
Before January 2026, branding had to be configured individually for each game with no option to save time or manage branding centrally. Every game required manual upload of all branding assets, making it time-consuming and repetitive, especially for clients running multiple games with consistent branding.
What changed: After the January 2026 release, branding fields within individual games are now greyed out by design. Instead, you can simply select from a dropdown of your predefined templates to populate assets (images, colors, URLs) through the central branding management feature. For any new games created after January 2026, it's not possible to configure branding the old way - you must use branding templates.
