Configuring Global Language Settings

The Language Settings section in the Configuration tab allows you to manage multilingual content across your platform. Here you can set up your default language, specify which languages are available for translations, and configure translation rules for your content.

Core Language Settings

In the Language tab, you'll find three main configuration areas:

1. Default Language

The default language setting specifies what language your content is primarily created in. This setting is particularly important for translation features:

  • When importing quizzes from the pre-made template library (which are all in English), they can only be directly imported into your chosen default language
  • When using individual question translation in Classic Quiz, questions can only be directly translated into your default language
  • Default language can be changed at any time through the Configuration tab

💡 Note: While certain translation features (like template translation) only support translation into your default language, our platform offers multiple translation methods. As long as a language is added to your Available Languages, you can still translate content to and from it using other translation functionalities like complete quiz translation or quiz cloning.

2. Available Languages

Select which languages you want to make available for your content:

  • Choose from a comprehensive list of supported languages
  • Selected languages will be available for translations across supported features
  • You can modify this selection at any time as your needs change

3. Translation Rules

This affects how translated content behaves when first created. You can:

  • Set whether translated content should be Active or Inactive by default
  • Configure rules individually for each selected language

Translation Features Integration

While these global settings establish your language configuration, specific features like Classic Quiz offer comprehensive additional translation capabilities:
