How to Manage and Configure Preferences

The Preferences feature allows you to store user preferences across customizable categories. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for accessing, configuring, and managing the Preferences feature through the Management Portal.


Accessing the Preferences Configuration

  1. Log in to your management portal
  2. Navigate to the "Configuration" tab at the top left corner
  3. Click on the "Profile preferences" tab

Understanding the Preferences Interface

The Preferences interface consists of two main sections:

  1. Categories - Where you can define the types of preferences you want to track
  2. Preferences - Where you can create specific preference options within each category

Creating & Managing Preference Categories

To create and manage preference categories:

  1. In the Categories section, you'll see existing categories displayed with their identifier tags
  2. To add a new category:
    • Enter a unique ID in the "ID" field
    • Enter a display name in the "Name" field
    • Click "Add Category"
  3. Existing categories will be displayed with tags (e.g., "Brand", "Footwear")
  4. To delete a category, click the trash icon on the category tag

Creating and Managing Preferences

Once you've established your categories, you can add specific preferences:

  1. In the Preferences section, you'll see existing preferences displayed with their details
  2. Each preference shows:
    • The preference name (e.g., "Nike", "Adidas", "The North Face")
    • The categories it belongs to (e.g., "Brand", "Footwear"), if any
  3. To add a new preference:
    • Enter a unique ID in the "ID" field
    • Enter a display name in the "Name" field
    • Optionally select categories for this preference (a preference can exist without being assigned to any category)
      • In the "Select categories for new preference" section, check or uncheck the relevant categories
      • Leave all categories unchecked if you want the preference to exist without categorization
    • Click "Add Preference"
    • To delete a preference, click the trash icon next to the preference

Saving Your Configuration

After making any changes to your Preferences setup:

  1. Click the "Update Configuration" button at the bottom of the page
  2. Your changes will be saved and applied to your platform
