📖 Customizing Widget Lead Forms: Make Every Text Element Match Your Campaign
When your quiz widget includes a lead form (when authRequirement = lead), the default text might not always fit your specific needs. Whether you're running a game for an extended period where the default "You will be notified if you win the prize within 3 business days" message doesn't align with your timeline, partnering with sponsors who need specific lead form messaging, or simply want to align the wording with your brand voice, you can customize all five key text elements using the Labels feature in the Management Portal.
📖 Why Would I Want to Customize My Lead Form Text?
Different game campaigns have different requirements, and the default lead form messaging won't fit every situation. Here are common scenarios where customization is essential:
Time-sensitive campaigns - If you're running a Christmas quiz starting in early December but won't announce winners until January, the default "You will be notified if you win the prize within 3 business days" message would confuse participants and damage credibility. With the Labels feature, you can easily change this messaging to something accurate like "Winners will be notified in January, up to 2 days after the prize draw."
Brand voice alignment - Your lead form should sound like your brand, whether that's casual and playful or professional and formal.
Sponsor requirements - Partners may have specific messaging requirements for lead forms and success messages.
Any other specific use case - There might be many other scenarios where the ability to personalize text elements within your widget becomes important for your campaign's success.
📖 How Does Lead Form Text Customization Work?
Classic Quiz widgets (or any other widget) with lead forms (authRequirement = lead) display default text for the 1) lead form title, 2) description, 3) button label and, upon submission, 4) success message title and 5) success message description. If you want to customize any of these five text elements, you need to configure them using the Labels feature in the Management Portal.
Each text element is controlled by a specific label key, and you can customize one, some, or all five elements depending on your needs.
📖 What Can You Customize? What Are The 5 Lead Form Label Keys?
When a lead form is present in your widget, you can customize these five text elements:
- leadTitle - The main heading at the top of the lead form
- Default: "Fill out and enter to win!"
- leadDescription - The descriptive text below the title
- Default: "Fill out the form and enter the raffle to win an amazing prize!"
- leadCta - The submit button text
- Default: "Submit"
- leadSuccessTitle - The success message title shown after form submission
- Default: "Form submitted successfully!"
- leadSuccessDescription - The success message description after form submission
- Default: "You will be notified if you win the prize within 3 business days."
⚙️ How to Customize Your Lead Form Text Elements
Step 1: Navigate to Your Quiz Settings
- Log in to the Management Portal
- In the left sidebar, click on CLASSIC QUIZZES
- Select the specific quiz you want to configure and open the editing page
- In the quiz management screen, scroll down to find the Labels section on the right side
Step 2: Add Your Custom Lead Form Labels
In the Labels section, you'll see fields for Key and Value. For each element you want to customize:
- In the Key field, enter one of these exact keys (no spaces):
leadTitleleadDescriptionleadCtaleadSuccessTitleleadSuccessDescription
- In the Value field, enter your custom text
- Click the + button to add the label
- Repeat for any other elements you want to customize
- Scroll down and save your changes
Important: You don't need to add all five labels—only customize the ones you want to change. Any label you don't add will continue to display the default text.
📖 How Your Customized Text Elements Appear in the Widget
Once you've added and saved your custom labels, they will appear in your lead form exactly as you specified. The images below show where each customized text element appears:
Before Form Submission:
- Your leadTitle appears as the main heading
- Your leadDescription appears below the title
- Your leadCta appears on the submit button
After Form Submission:
- Your leadSuccessTitle appears as the success pop-up heading
- Your leadSuccessDescription appears as the success message description
The image below shows the Labels section in the Management Portal with all five lead form labels configured. These are the exact label settings used in the quiz widget examples shown in this article.
Note that we've intentionally included the key names within each value text (e.g., "Controlled by key LeadTitle") to make it visually clearer what each label controls.
💡 Important Notes
- All Key fields must be exactly as specified above for the feature to work - if you make a typo, the labels will NOT work
- Value fields can contain any text you want, including digits and even emojis
- These labels only apply to lead forms (when authRequirement = lead)
- You can customize one, some, or all five elements—it's flexible
- Remember to scroll down and click Save after adding your labels - if you forget to save, your labels will NOT be saved even if you've entered them
- Each quiz can have different customized text elements — labels are configured per quiz
