How Do I Export Leads from Pick the Pair Games?

πŸ“– Pick the Pair games are built specifically for lead generation β€” every participant must submit their information through a lead form to play. This article explains how to find, filter, and export those leads from the Management Portal.

πŸ“– New to Pick the Pair? Before diving into lead exports, make sure your game is set up correctly. Check out our How to Create Pick the Pair Games from Scratch guide β€” the setup process has a few important differences compared to other game types on our platform.

πŸ“– The Process at a Glance

With most game types, you can export lead data directly from the game's respective overview page in the portal (e.g. for Classic Quizzes, you'd go to the 'Classic Quizzes' page, click Additional Information on a game and navigate to the Exports tab). With Pick the Pair, that's not possible β€” the Leads widget is the only way to access and export lead data. Here's a quick overview of the steps:

  1. Go to Management Portal β†’ Leads (bottom of the left sidebar)
  2. Choose your filter approach:
    • By specific game β†’ use the Content ID (ID is found in the game's Configuration tab)
    • Across all Pick the Pair games β†’ use Content Type: pick-the-pair
    • By campaign β†’ use the Campaign ID (if you've set one up)
  3. Set your date range using the From Date and To Date fields
  4. Click Apply Filters to load results
  5. Click Export Leads to download your CSV

πŸ“Έ Visual Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Navigate to the Leads section in the Management Portal sidebar

Navigate to Manage β†’ Leads using the left sidebar of the Management Portal. This is where all Pick the Pair lead data can be exported from β€” unlike other game types, Pick the Pair leads are not exported from the game's own page.

Step 2: Use the available filters to narrow down your results

The Leads widget offers five filter fields: Content ID, Content Type, Campaign ID, From Date, and To Date. You can use these individually or in combination. Once your filters are set, click Apply Filters to load the results.

πŸ’‘ The next steps break down each available filter and how to use it. You can use them individually or combine them for more targeted exports.

Step 3 (filter by game): Find your game's Content ID in its Configuration panel

To export leads for a specific game, you'll need its unique Content ID. Open the game in Info Pages, then look in the right sidebar under Configuration β†’ ID. Copy this value β€” you'll paste it into the Content ID filter in the Leads widget.

Step 4 (filter by game): Paste the Content ID and apply filters to export

With the Content ID entered and filters applied, the widget will show how many leads are available for that specific game within the selected date range. Click Export Leads to download the data as a CSV file.

Step 5 (filter by game type): Export leads across all Pick the Pair games at once

To pull leads from all Pick the Pair games in one go, leave Content ID empty and enter pick-the-pair in the Content Type field (exact spelling required). Apply filters and export as usual.

Step 6 (optional): Set up a Campaign ID for more granular filtering

If you want to be able to filter leads by campaign, you can assign a Campaign ID to your games in one of two ways:

  • New method (recommended): Go to Configuration β†’ User-Centric Widgets β†’ Choose your preferred config β†’ Leads tab β†’ Campaign β†’ ID and enter your Campaign ID there.
  • Legacy method: In the Widget Embed Code section for the game, select the Legacy approach, then go to Add Campaign Info and enter the ID.

Once set, the Campaign ID can be used as an additional filter when exporting leads from the Leads widget.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

πŸ“– How do I export leads from all Pick the Pair games at once?

In the Leads widget, leave the Content ID field empty and enter pick-the-pair (exactly as written) into the Content Type field. This will return leads from all Pick the Pair games. You can further narrow results using the date range filters, then click Export Leads.

⚠️ Note: When future game types like chance-game and memory-game are released, the same approach will apply β€” just use their respective Type IDs in the Content Type field.

πŸ“– Can I filter leads by date?

Yes. The From Date and To Date fields let you define the date range for the leads you want to export. These date filters can be used alongside Content ID, Content Type, and Campaign ID filters.

πŸ“– What is the Campaign ID filter and how do I use it?

Campaign ID is an optional identifier you can assign to a game (or multiple games) to help organize and filter leads across different campaigns or promotions. A common use case is sponsor-based campaigns β€” for example, if Sponsor X is providing rewards for a set of games, you can assign a Campaign ID (e.g. "sponsor-x") to all of those games. Later, when exporting leads, simply filter by that Campaign ID to get a combined export of all participants across every game in that campaign, without having to export each game individually.

Both ways to set up a Campaign ID are described and shown with screenshots in the visual guide above (Step 6).

πŸ“– Why am I seeing no leads after applying filters?

A few things to check:

  • Make sure the Content ID is copied exactly from the game's Configuration panel β€” even small typos will return no results.
  • If using Content Type, confirm it's entered as pick-the-pair (lowercase, with hyphens).
  • Verify the date range covers the period when the game was active and receiving submissions.
  • Confirm the game has actually been played β€” if no users have submitted the lead form yet, there will be no leads to export.
