🧩 Adding an Either/Or Block

1. Create or Edit a WordPress Page/Post

  • Navigate to Pages or Posts in your WordPress admin
  • Select an existing page/post to edit or click "Add New"

2. Insert the Either/Or Block

  • Click the "+" button in the WordPress editor to add a new block
  • Search for "Fans United Either/Or Game" or locate it in the Widgets category
  • Click on the Fans United Either/Or block to add it to your content

3. Select an Either/Or Game

  • In the block settings, you'll see a dropdown menu labeled "SELECT A FANS UNITED EITHER/OR GAME TO DISPLAY"
  • Click the dropdown to view available active Either/Or games from your Fans United account
  • Select the game you want to display on your page

ℹ️ Note: This dropdown will only show Either/Or games with "Active" status from your Fans United account. Expired or inactive games will not appear in the selection menu, ensuring you can only embed currently available content.

4. Choose Display Mode

  • Select either "Play Mode" or "Preview Mode"
  • Play Mode: Embeds the fully interactive Either/Or game directly on your page
  • Preview Mode: Shows a teaser card that links to a specified URL
    • Preview Click URL (Preview Mode Only)
      • If you've selected Preview Mode, enter the URL where users will be directed when clicking the preview
      • This can be a dedicated page on your site or an external URL

5. Configure Lead Collection (Optional)

  • Check "Use custom leads configuration for this game" to override global settings
  • When enabled, additional options will appear:

Form Position:

  • Choose "Before Content" or "After Content" to determine where the lead form appears

Available Lead Fields:

  • Select which user information fields to collect (Full Name, Email, etc.)

Campaign Information:

  • Enter a Campaign ID for tracking leads (e.g., "football-legends-competition")
  • Provide a Campaign Name (e.g., "Football Legends - How Well Do You Know Favorite Star!?")

Manually choose form position, lead fields & Campaign ID and Name when Using Custom Leads Configuration for individual Either/Or games

6. Save and Preview

  • Click "Update" or "Publish" to save your changes
  • Use the WordPress preview function to see how your Either/Or game appears on the page

💻 Using Shortcodes Instead of Blocks

You can also embed Either/Or games with ShortCodes. A shortcode will be automatically generated at the bottom of the block settings panel whenever you configure an Either/Or block.

Troubleshooting

If your Either/Or game isn't displaying correctly:

  • Verify that the Fans United Core plugin is properly configured with valid API credentials
  • Check that you're using the correct Either/Or game IDs
  • Check that the selected Either/Or game is active in your Fans United account
