🧩 Adding a Polls Block

1. Create or Edit a WordPress Page/Post

  • Navigate to Pages or Posts in your WordPress admin
  • Select an existing page/post to edit or click "Add New"

2. Insert the Poll Block

  • Click the "+" button in the WordPress editor to add a new block
  • Search for "Fans United Poll" or locate it in the Widgets category
  • Click on the Fans United Poll block to add it to your content

3. Select a Poll

  • In the block settings, you'll see a dropdown menu labeled "SELECT A FANS UNITED POLL TO DISPLAY"
  • Click the dropdown to view available active polls from your Fans United account
  • Select the poll you want to display on your page

ℹ️ Note: This dropdown will only show polls with "Active" status from your Fans United account. Expired or inactive polls will not appear in the selection menu, ensuring you can only embed currently available content.

4. Configure Lead Collection (Optional)

  • Check "Use custom leads configuration for this poll" to override global settings
  • When enabled, additional options will appear:

Form Position:

  • Choose "Before Content" or "After Content" to determine where the lead form appears

Available Lead Fields:

  • Select which user information fields to collect (Full Name, Email, etc.)

Campaign Information:

  • Enter a Campaign ID for tracking leads (e.g., "basketball-favorites-polls")
  • Provide a Campaign Name (e.g., "Basketball Favorites - Vote for Your Team!")

Manually choose form position, lead fields & Campaign ID and Name when Using Custom Leads Configuration for individual polls

5. Save and Preview

  • Click "Update" or "Publish" to save your changes
  • Use the WordPress preview function to see how your poll appears on the page

🔄 Using Shortcodes Instead of Blocks

You can also embed polls with ShortCodes. A shortcode will be automatically generated at the bottom of the block settings panel whenever you configure a poll block.

Troubleshooting

If your poll isn't displaying correctly:

  • Verify that the Fans United Core plugin is properly configured with valid API credentials
  • Check that you're using the correct poll IDs
  • Check that the selected poll is active in your Fans United account
