🧩 Adding a Classic Quiz Block
1. Create or Edit a WordPress Page/Post
- Navigate to Pages or Posts in your WordPress admin
- Select an existing page/post to edit or click "Add New"
2. Insert the Classic Quiz Block
- Click the "+" button in the WordPress editor to add a new block
- Search for "Fans United Quiz" or locate it in the Widgets category
- Click on the Fans United Quiz block to add it to your content
3. Select a Quiz
- In the block settings, you'll see a dropdown menu labeled "SELECT A FANS UNITED QUIZ TO DISPLAY"
- Click the dropdown to view available active quizzes from your Fans United account
- Select the quiz you want to display on your page
🚨 Note: This dropdown will only show quizzes with "Active" status from your Fans United account. Expired or inactive quizzes will not appear in the selection menu, ensuring you can only embed currently available content.
As shown in the images above, quizzes with "EXPIRED" and "INACTIVE" status will not appear in your WordPress block selection dropdown. Only quizzes with "ACTIVE" status will be available for embedding on your site.
4. Choose Display Mode
- Select either "Play Mode" or "Preview Mode"
- Play Mode: Embeds the fully interactive quiz directly on your page
- Preview Mode: Shows a teaser card that links to a specified URL
- Preview Click URL (Preview Mode Only)
- If you've selected Preview Mode, enter the URL where users will be directed when clicking the preview
- This can be a dedicated page on your site or an external URL
- Preview Click URL (Preview Mode Only)
5. Configure Lead Collection (Optional)
- Check "Use custom leads configuration for this quiz" to override global settings
- When enabled, additional options will appear:
Form Position:
- Choose "Before Content" or "After Content" to determine where the lead form appears
Available Lead Fields:
- Select which user information fields to collect (Full Name, Email, etc.)
Campaign Information:
- Enter a Campaign ID for tracking leads (e.g., "tennis-wimbledon-challenge")
- Provide a Campaign Name (e.g., "Wimbledon Enthusiasts - Play and Win Amazing Rewards!")
As shown in the screenshots, when "Use custom leads configuration" is left unticked, the default leads settings are automatically applied to your quiz. In this example, the default configuration places the form before the content and only collects Full Name and Email fields from users.
Manually choose form position, lead fields & Campaign ID and Name when Using Custom Leads Configuration for individual quizzes
6. Save and Preview
- Click "Update" or "Publish" to save your changes
- Use the WordPress preview function to see how your quiz appears on the page
💡 Using Shortcodes Instead of Blocks
You can also embed classic quizzes with ShortCodes. A shortcode will be automatically generated at the bottom of the block settings panel whenever you configure a quiz block.
Troubleshooting
If your quiz isn't displaying correctly:
- Verify that the Fans United Core plugin is properly configured with valid API credentials
- Check that you're using the correct quiz IDs
- Check that the selected quiz is active in your Fans United account
